Spitting Image “FULL SUN” LP out 2.3.23 on Slovenly Recordings To announce this news we’re excited the share this killer cover artwork, a sewn collage by our friend, the inimitable Nick Larsen (@nick.larsen) with text from legend Omar Pierce (@deepdownpress).To pair, we’re also premiering a new video for the song “Plea Dealer” on V13 (@v13media). Our dear friend MaryAnne Carey (@mac.maryanne.mac) directed this lush rear-projection video for us. I feel beyond grateful to be able to travel and see many places around this planet, sharing music ! Playing sets with @spitting___image in #Nairobi is helping me fulfill a dream of getting to Experience a small piece of Africa. Pretty damn excited to see #Death also play at @wereloudfest, on top of getting to experience the beautiful Kenyan Culture ! Shout out to @slovpete @ Eunice for making this all come together for all of us. This is gonna be one for the books ! A couple DJ sets along with getting to connect with some Youth at the @anidan_ongd school, this feels like it’s gonna be ridiculously special ! “No… Sleep… til Nairobi ! #AncestralMission

This is a one night only lineup and the last with our brother @sososicwidit on drums, not forever but for a while. ️ Mainstay figures of the west coast desert underground, Reno’s own @spitting___image play lush, driving psych-punk guitar spells — seamlessly leaping from unhinged hardcore to Kraut Motorik to wistful Laurel Canyon to angular post-punk and back. These textured and fluid sounds support lyrical themes inspecting psyche, pattern and perception, social ills and triumphs, and the awe and horror of the natural world — all rooted in the rich tradition of ecstatic poets like Mirabai and Hafiz. After releasing several 7” and cassette EPs before members temporarily split ways, they reunited in 2019 and dropped their full-length LP Full Sun, produced by Tim Green (@louderstudios) (Nation of Ulysses, The Fucking Champs) on @slovenlyrecordings in 2023.
