ending this year at the very bottom of the well—coated in insurmountable grief, loss, and change. that being said, it is never lost on me how lucky i am to be held by so many hands (and paws) and carried through life with folks who seem to bring an unending supply of creativity, innovation, and will to keep fighting. we may be sharing the same single dollar and limited energy bank but cheers to continuing to read and write and love and hike and spiral and kiss and dance and sleep and sculpt and climb and quilt and cry and cry some more. all my love 💘
It's a snowy Sunday in Chicago, so grab a cup of something warm to welcome @spitboy_
micah is an interdisciplinary artist who makes brightly colored quilts that are adorned with found objects from their ongoing collection of buttons, charms, beads, and other assorted treasures. their work functions as a scrapbook in reverse: sending memories backwards through time to re-imagine their childhood from their perspective now, as a queer and trans adult.

One of the greatest gifts Jules has ever given me in our relationship was truly selfless, incredibly kind caretaking after my top surgery. I cannot wait to return the care they extended towards me at such a vulnerable and joyful time in both of our transitions. One of the greatest gifts you can give us is a donation or sharing of this post so we can focus on Jules’s comfort and healing without the stress of financial strain. Their surgery date is November 10th. I will have their gofundme linked in my bio through the end of year and you can also venmo @Jules -koreman if you wish.
It is so incredibly frightening to be pursuing medical transition right now amongst everything happening in our country. Trans people and gender affirming care are being scapegoated in such sinister ways and it’s putting pressure on us all to “finish” medically transitioning as quickly as possible before laws and insurance policies change. We are both fighting chronic illnesses on top of everything and deeply appreciate how you have and continue to show up for us.
love, micah
