I am thrilled to share the recording of Anemoia for orchestra, winner of the 1st Prize and Audience Prize at the 1st Ferruccio Busoni International Composition Competition. This work delves into the melancholy of a past never experienced (anemoia), a feeling I often encounter when listening to music from the past.
The piece draws on melodic fragments from sketches of Mahler's unfinished 10th Symphony, evoking an unreachable past. The orchestration is rich and multifaceted, ranging from pastoral, romantic, to amorphous figures, with Mahlerian echoes emerging like from an old gramophone, reimagined in a contemporary key.

Questo lavoro esplora la malinconia di un passato mai vissuto (anemoia), un sentimento che spesso provo ascoltando musica del passato.
Il brano si basa su frammenti melodici tratti dagli schizzi della Decima Sinfonia di Mahler, rimasta incompiuta, evocando un passato irraggiungibile. L'orchestrazione, densa e variegata, spazia tra figure pastorali, romantiche e amorfe, con echi mahleriani che affiorano come da un vecchio grammofono, trasformandosi in chiave contemporanea.
Un sentito grazie al Maestro Sergio Alapont e alla European Youth Orchestra “Ferruccio Busoni”.
Con estremo entusiasmo condivido la vincita della seconda edizione del concorso Busoni di Composizione, il mio brano Anemoia vince il primo premio e il premio del pubblico.
L'European youth orchestra diretta dall'eccezionale M.Sergio Alapont è riuscita nel cuore di Empoli a realizzare qualcosa di fantastico. L'energia, la passione e l'atmosfera con cui questa fantastica orchestra è riuscita a tirar fuori ogni sfumatura del mio lavoro ha permesso di relizzare qualcosa di unico. Ringrazio vivamente il M. Alapont per aver interpretato al meglio e con grande precisione ogni dettaglio e sfumatura
del mio brano riuscendo a tirar fuori le sensazioni e le emozioni che fino ad allora avevo solo immaginato.
Ringrazio inoltre la giuria presieduta da Fabio Vacchi e composta da Philippe Hersant, Andrea Portera, Sergio Alapont e Lorenzo Ancillotti che ha creduto nel mio lavoro

With extreme enthusiasm I share my win of the second edition of the Busoni Composition competition, my piece Anemoia wins the first prize and the public prize.
The European youth orchestra directed by the exceptional M.Sergio Alapont has managed to achieve something fantastic in the heart of Empoli. The energy, passion and atmosphere with which this fantastic orchestra managed to bring out every nuance of my work allowed me to
create something unique. I warmly thank Mr. Alapont for having interpreted every detail and nuance in the best possible way and with great precision of my piece, managing to bring out the sensations and emotions that until then I had only imagined. I also thank the jury chaired by Fabio Vacchi and composed of Philippe Hersant, Andrea Portera, Sergio Alapont and Lorenzo Ancillotti who believed in my work
and all the competition staff who managed to organize this competition so well.
I return home with great enthusiasm and full of ideas for future jobs.
Appena concluso il mio nuovo lavoro per flauto solo "Urlare in silenzio" composto per la Residenza artistica Ragazze e ragazzi Salvemini 1990. Il brano verrà eseguito sabato 29 Luglio alla Rocca dei Bentiviglio dallo straordinario Manuel Zurria.

È un percorso tra nuove frontiere musicali: il cambiamento nevrotico, l’incoerenza come forza distruttiva che crea coerenza.

“Domscrolling” explores the compulsive act of scrolling through news we are exposed to every day.
But how much of it truly affects our lives?
I wanted to explore the relationship we have with technology today:
when should we stop letting it influence us?
When are we truly able to distinguish between what is real and what is constructed?
It is a journey through new musical frontiers: neurotic change, and incoherence as a destructive force that paradoxically creates coherence.
The piece will be performed on April 10 at 9:00 PM by the Orchestra Ferruccio Busoni of Empoli, at the Sala delle Esposizioni.

Completed the first score of 2026: Paralyzed, the Fear of Choosing for flute, trumpet, trombone, and percussion.
A unique piece that gives voice to fear — the vertigo and weight that every choice entails. A subtle neurosis runs through the entire composition, pushing to the extreme the theatrical dimension I previously explored in Digital Solitude.
The ensemble performs with the whole body, transforming gesture into sound — a performative act that reflects the tensions and fragilities of our time.
I can’t wait to hear it performed by the soloists of Klangforum Wien and PPCM Graz — Vera Fischer, Anders Nyqvist, Pablo Marín-Reyes, and Daichi Kutsuna.
Premiere on April 21 in Thessaloniki, at the @outhear_newmusic Festival.
