SPH Architecture + Interiors is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris White as Director.
Chris joined SPH in October 2024 to help grow our healthcare portfolio, bringing more than 20 years of experience delivering complex health projects across the UK and Australia. In a short time, he has made a strong impact on the practice, strengthening our capability, supporting our team, and building trusted relationships with clients and clinical partners.
Chris has played an important role in lifting our technical delivery and project performance, while helping shape how we collaborate with health operators, executives, and clinical and operational teams. His practical, grounded approach and clear communication style have supported SPH’s continued growth and helped position us for the next stage of our journey.
His appointment comes at an exciting time for the practice, following our move into a new CBD studio and ongoing expansion across key sectors including resources, seniors living and workplace design. Chris’s leadership will continue to support SPH’s commitment to delivering high quality, client focused outcomes and growing our presence in the health sector.
“I’m proud to step into this role and continue building on the momentum we’ve created. SPH has an exceptional team and a strong foundation, and I’m looking forward to helping shape the next chapter strengthening our delivery, deepening our client relationships, and supporting projects that genuinely improve care for patients, staff, and communities.”
We congratulate Chris on his appointment and look forward to the contribution he will continue to make to SPH’s growth and direction.

Hayley’s just been promoted to Model Manager and we’re so glad she’s ours.
She’s always known drafting was her path, sparked by a love of technical drawing at school and growing up around drawings on her dad’s desk. With her dad working as a glazier, the construction side of the industry was never far away.
While studying at TAFE, Hayley picked up solid experience elsewhere before joining SPH in 2014 as a Draftsperson. She started out in AutoCAD, moved across to Revit in 2015, and was part of SPH’s first Revit project, Kaleeya Aged Care.
Now with over a decade at SPH, Hayley has recently been promoted to Model Manager. She works part time, balancing her career with family life after taking time away to welcome her two sons.
Outside of work, Hayley loves travelling, champagne and online shopping, a practical passion when juggling life with two young kids.

Another sneak peek from our new studio at 442 Murray Street. More colour, more texture, and a few soft finishes beginning to reveal the tone of the space.
Congratulations to our newest Associate Director Asha Sullivan, who leads our Interior design team.
Asha has made significant contributions to the SPH team, evident through the positive energy she brings to the office and the many outstanding projects she has delivered. With every project, she develops a design concept that reflects a deep understanding of the client’s needs. From concept through to completion, her work showcases her strong work ethic and an eye for design.
We are very excited to welcome Asha to our senior leadership team and are proud to announce this well‑deserved promotion.

At the Western Power Forrestdale Depot, this courtyard brings together administrative and operational staff in a shared place to gather, eat, and reset.
It needed to work hard. It's durable enough to withstand constant use, protected from the intensity of the Australian sun, and offer respite from the surrounding operational activity.
A simple steel structure provides shade and shelter, while robust materials ensure longevity. The space is calm and practical, supporting everyday connection across the facility.

Our design concept focuses on creating a soft, welcoming, and safe environment that supports the well‑being of both consumers and staff. By incorporating natural elements, thoughtful materials, and mental‑health‑compliant fixtures and furniture, we aim to cultivate a calming space that feels connected to nature. Through the use of soothing, nature‑inspired colours, timber‑look finishes, curated artwork, and maximised natural light, we strive to promote comfort, serenity, and a sense of belonging.

Behind every essential service is infrastructure that simply has to work.
The Operations Building at the Western Power Forrestdale Depot was designed to support safe, efficient day-to-day operations at scale. Clear vehicle and pedestrian movement, durable materials, and practical planning were key drivers, creating a facility that performs as hard as the teams who use it.
Industrial environments don’t need to be overcomplicated. Good design here is about clarity, safety, and long-term performance.

The Town Hall at Western Power’s Forrestdale Depot was designed as a shared heart for a facility accommodating up to 900 staff.
With tiered seating overlooking the main space, the focus was on making large-scale gatherings work well day to day, ensuring safe and efficient movement of people, a considered mixed-mode ventilation strategy, and acoustics that support clear communication in a busy, active environment.
A practical space, carefully resolved, that supports collaboration at scale.

This fit-out spans three levels and draws inspiration from a Mid-Century Modern aesthetic. SPH introduced a timeless and stylish design language for key functional spaces, helping reduce distractions without relying on physical isolation or enclosure. The new workplace has had a remarkably positive and tangible impact on employee energy levels and collaboration, with both staff and visitors praising the “sense of calm throughout the space” and the “beautiful new surroundings."
