Gemeinsam mit Christoph Sprenger und Guillermo Valdivia präsentiere ich ein Programm aus Eigenkomposition sowie Musik meiner größten musikalischen Helden – den Künstlern, die mich in den vergangenen Jahren begleitet, geprägt und in unzähligen Dauerschleifen inspiriert haben. I’m thrilled to announce this concert, a project I’ve been working on with one of the musicians I admire most, Maestro Guillermo Klein.
Earlier this year, I had the great pleasure of meeting and speaking with him, and that conversation sparked the idea of coming to Leipzig to perform together. I couldn’t be more excited.
— Klein’s music transcends categories, resisting attachment to any single genre. The pianist creates sound worlds that are both unique and deeply personal. The influences of Argentine folk music, minimalism, Bach, Stravinsky, and modern jazz, shaping a sound that feels at once contemporary and deeply rooted in tradition.
Klein regularly performs with some of the most prominent figures in the jazz community, including Chris Cheek, Miguel Zenón, Larry Grenadier, Bill McHenry, Jeff Ballard, Seamus Blake, Aaron Goldberg, and Jorge Rossy, among others.—
