This post is to inform you that I’ll be showing 3 new sculptures later on this week and on the weekend at @melbourneartfair with @animalhousefinearts , alongside some paintings by Madeleine Peters and some photos by Beth Maslen
I’m also participating in something called a ‘conversation’ that’s happening at 130pm on Sunday at the fair. We’ll be talking about being artists who have second careers doing something else
The picture is of “Hewn” (2025). Hopefully I will see you there
I’ve spent the last few years studying to become a counsellor. It’s interesting to have a new professional identity, especially given that I have also made the commitment to being an artist. I had wanted to keep these two things separate, for fear of appearing too strange and uncouth in the counselling context, and too focused on maintaining my professional air in the art context. I’ve realised that it doesn’t really matter though; I can just have two things that I work at doing as well as I can.
Anyway, now that I’m qualified, I’m starting my own private practice. I’ll be doing therapy in person at Asphalt Books (when it’s not open, of course), as well as online and over the phone. Share amongst your own circles, or keep it in the back of your mind.
Also, get in touch if you run your own small business and you’re interested in keeping some of my business cards on hand for people to take home.
Wishing you good luck in 2026.

New show at @animalhousefinearts called ‘Shrug and Continue’ opening next Friday the 28th
Mostly work I made when I levelled up after being hit by a car at a pedestrian crossing last year
We were supposed to be documenting some of the work but ended up doing a full photoshoot with me in it for the promo, because we were exercising our right to shrug and continue
I like that it looks a bit as though I’m advertising a thought provoking stand up comedy tour in the picture
I hope to see some of you there
Had a really good time at the opening for To Go Around Shouldering a Burden, which was also my 29th bday party if you look at it a certain way. Definitely one of the strangest days I’ve had but in a good way.
Thanks to Matt for being rly rly good at what he does.
Sending love on tgif
