TOUR RECAP: On Thursday the Harvard Glee Club had the honor of touring Fisk University. Later in the day we joined the Fisk Jubilee Singers in our final concert. Thanks to Spero Dei, Fisk University, and especially the Fisk Jubilee Singers for having us, it was truly an honor to sing with you! #harvard #tour #tour26 #harvardgleeclub
Last night at Spero Dei the Harvard Glee Club and the Fisk University jubilee Singers performed historic spirituals to a standing-room-only crowd for one magical night.
Don’t miss tonight. 6:30 at Spero Dei. It is going to be an embodied sensory and sacred experience. Shea Carter will lead a sound bath, and we will take an old Christian tradition, the ashes, and re-imagine it in a new way.
What if you’re not addicted to a substance… but to an identity?
In this clip, Rev. David Moses Perez shares something that hit me in the chest: when his faith framework started falling apart, it felt scary—like he didn’t know who he was without it. So he drove across town to a 12-step meeting… not because he was addicted to alcohol or pills, but because he realized he was addicted to the approval + identity religion had given him.
And when he heard people describe addiction, he found his story in theirs.
If you’ve ever thought, “I don’t even know who I am without this”—you’re not alone.
A Rabbi and a Reverend walk into a bar to watch the Super Bowl… Actually DP is at Rabbi Flip Rice’s house as they celebrate a Seahawks win - a city they both lived in. Yay Sam Darnold another great USC Trojan. @micahnashville
If love had a doorway… would yours be locked?
In this clip, David Moses Perez describes love as “lowering the fence”—turning on the lights, turning up the heat, unlocking the door, and making room for more people to belong. Not “who’s in vs. out,” not “right vs. wrong”… just a heart that keeps saying: come in.
If you’ve been holding faith, belonging, and questions at the same time—this one’s for you.
