🎙️ In the studio… again.
Recording is one of the hardest things for me because of its permanency!
That feeling that once something is recorded, it is permanently there … so it better be "perfect"!
And then the inner critic starts:
“You could’ve done that better.
What if this isn’t good enough?
What if it never is?”
But then, @spencerdcarson voice comes through the headsets reassuring me. He’s been there for me from the beginning of this album journey - offering time, space, guidance, and encouragement with such generosity and kindness.
So today, I’m choosing to show up for myself. Letting go of my obsession with perfection, playing from my heart, and trusting @spencerdcarson to take care of me! I am so grateful I met you and I am privileged to call you my friend.

I promised a friend I’d share something today, despite feeling weird or vulnerable.
As a musician, I don’t usually share work while it’s still in progress. I change my mind a lot, I try a million different things, and I’m almost never fully happy with the end result! I know that’s the perfectionist in me, the enemy of both progress and creativity.
So in the spirit of letting go of the perfectionist and moving forward with love for myself and my work, here’s a glimpse into a recent mixing session with the one and only @spencerdcarson . I’m so grateful for his sound wizardry, support, and incredible friendship ❤️
This piece is called “Nour” - it means “Light” in Arabic. It came through during a heavy season and has been helping me find my way back to the light. Still a work in progress, part of my upcoming album.

The music? Absolutely incredible, thanks to internationally acclaimed Oud Virtuoso Ahmed Maher, whose evocative, timeless melodies from the Middle East were beautifully woven into a modern, immersive soundscape.
Alongside Ahmed was Spencer Carson, a master of sound design and a highly skilled audio engineer. His real-time audio mixing, combined with his innovative use of synthesizers, shaped the performance and enriched the entire experience. 🎧🎶
And then there was the visual art by Tami Murray, which was nothing short of mesmerizing. Her live painting came to life, capturing the essence of the music with every brushstroke. 🎨✨
This live performance was a true testament to the power of collaboration, where music, art, and technology converged. A heartfelt thank you to Ahmed, Spencer, and Tami, who shared this beautiful moment with the community. It was the perfect closing celebration for StrideFest this year.
