We decided to move our business over to the Google platform in order to better integrate our global creative network.
But we weren’t able to use our brand typeface on the platform.
The easy solution was to choose a Google font for our documents and just live with the fact that they wouldn’t match our unique brand identity. But that’s not a solution. It just created another problem.
We could collaborate on work together, but we’d look just like everyone else.
So, we decided to do the right thing and, with the expertise of @monolith.nz and @googlefonts we designed our own custom typeface for use across our group.
Which opened another can of worms: if we add it into Google fonts, now everyone else in the world can use our custom typeface.
But we think that’s ok.
Because that means everyone can look special.
Make a presentation.
Make a website.
Make a business card.
Make a t-shirt.
Make a logo.
MAKE IT SPECIAL.
Special Gothic is now available on every computer in the world. Free. Not-so-exclusively from Google fonts.

Despite our insistence on calling her Madame President, she insists on just being “Lisa.” And honestly, it’s that down-to-earth spirit that’s going to make her an incredible President of the Brand Experience & Activation, Creative Commerce jury at #SpikesAsia2026.
That said… she has requested we knock down an entire wing of our building and replace it with a ballroom. So, you know, there’s that.
