This morning, I had the honor of delivering the keynote address at the 200+ Men Scholarship Breakfast — celebrating some of the brightest young men in Hampton Roads.
These scholars are proof that the future is strong, disciplined, and full of promise. Proud to stand with Pastor Karl Wilkins, educators, mentors, and the next generation of leaders.
Four years. Thousands of lives changed.
Through political party shifts, leadership changes, and even a veto—lawmakers, the VA Safety Coalition, and directly impacted Virginians stayed the course and got it done.
And that persistence has changed lives.
Because of HB 2038:
⭐️More than 6,000 Virginians have avoided jail for first-time technical violations
And now, with SB 136 / HB 149:
⭐️52,000 people on probation have a real chance to earn their way off probation by staying on track
Together, Virginia is working to build one of the smartest, most effective probation systems in the country.
Thanks to these bills:
✅ Individuals are empowered to earn their way off probation
✅ The Commonwealth benefits from a stronger workforce
✅ Probation officers can focus on higher-risk cases
✅ Public safety resources go where they matter most.

Tonight, Virginians sent a message heard across this country: we will not let Donald Trump or MAGA Republicans rig our democracy.
This started in Texas when Trump launched an unprecedented power grab to rig the midterms and tonight Virginia voters ended it and voted YES to stop his power grab.
We trusted the voters, not politicians. We put this question on the ballot because we believe power belongs to the people. And tonight, the people of Virginia answered.
In a special election with everything on the line, Virginians showed up in extraordinary numbers and chose fairness over fear, truth over misinformation, and democracy over political games.
Let’s be clear about what this means: Virginia just changed the trajectory of the 2026 midterms. At a moment when Trump and his allies are trying to lock in power before voters have a say, Virginians stepped up and leveled the playing field for the entire country.
Virginia has done this before — and tonight, we did it again. When the stakes are highest, we lead.
The strength of our work begins with the strength of our team.
This past weekend, our team had the opportunity to attend the Annual VTLA Convention at The Greenbrier. Coming together outside of the office to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, and reinforce how we collaborate provides meaningful opportunities for growth—both individually and as a collective.
Connecting with peers who are equally committed to their craft helps refine how we think, collaborate, and ultimately serve our clients at a higher level.
