📣 The Society for Photographic Education Pride Caucus is searching for passionate individuals to join the Leadership Team in the roles of Chair, Secretary, and Chapter Representatives!
🙌This is an excellent opportunity to influence the direction of the caucus, foster community, build professional networks, get involved in SPE leadership (many former Caucus leaders later serve on the SPE board), and be recognized for your professional skills while serving the LGBTQIA2S+ communities.
✍️ Participation on the Leadership Team requires attending a one-hour Leadership Team meeting via Zoom each month and completing any additional agreed upon duties, which vary depending on the individual interests and responsibilities of each team member.
📩 You can nominate yourself or someone else, such as a colleague or graduate students, who will be sent the self-nomination form. While nominating a colleague or graduate student is anonymous, it is highly recommended that those nominating others let their nominee(s) know to encourage completion of the self-nomination form.
🗓️ All self-nominations must be submitted no later than April 19 at 11:59 PM PST. Nominees will then be vetted by the chair and voted on by the caucus membership from April 20-28, based on the information submitted.
🔗 See our link in Bio for the form and additional information!
💕 It’s time to apply for Mentorship Sessions this year!
🎓 Are you a student/emerging artist that identifies as LGBTQAI2S+? Are you looking for feedback on your work, guidance in your professional practice, and/or looking to have a conversation about making your way as an artist, in your own terms?
📷 Or, are you ready to directly impact the experiences of LGBTQIA2S+ emerging artists? Are you looking to act as a mentor and grant insight into their work and help them build relationships in the field?
🌈 This program is FREE and connects emerging and mid-career artists as a way to extend the critical conversation beyond campus and physical location.
👉 Mentors and mentees fill out a questionnaire and then are paired based on overlapping interests and focuses. Your initial meeting will be about 1 hour long.
🗓️ Signups for Mentees *and* Mentors at link in bio! Questionnaires are due April 6 at 11:59pm EST.

Next up on our Queer Photographer Highlight is Pia-Paulina Guilmoth.
Her work explores the connections between humanity, nature and queer resistance through haunting black and white photographs.
You can find her work in her recent book "Flowers Drink the River" from Stanley/Barker, "At Night Gardens Grow" (to be reprinted) and in collaboration with Jesse Saffire in "Fishworm"
