Current show with @feipelbechameil " A fleur d 'eau " in collaboration with @spaxprojects 📷 @antoni_girardi Special thanks @simonemachuel " The exhibition “A fleur d’eau” presents a serie of previously unseen ceramic works created during “The Residency”, the artist residency programme of Galerie Lefebvre & Fils in Versailles. The artist duo invites viewers to reflect deeply on the relationship between humans, nature, and industry. Through a collection of works and narratives, it highlights the indissoluble connection we share with living things, paying tribute to the ecosystems that surround us. This exhibition evokes a true epic in which life and survival are woven into a complex tapestry, featuring animals, plants, the oceans, humankind, and the air that surrounds us. Each element of this dynamic plays a crucial and interactive role, highlighting the mutual support and struggles inherent in our shared existence. In this eternal cycle, everything depends on others—humans, nature, the earth, the oceans, plants, and animals—for life and survival. The exhibition aims to explore different eras, connecting our own time to the past through the lens of human history. It explores the idea of a cyclical return to the earth, told through various stories that enrich our collective imagination. This artistic approach seeks to raise our awareness of our place in the cycle of life and to celebrate the beauty of our interdependence with nature. This project was made possible thanks to the generous support of KulturLX."

Don’t miss our exhibition in Paris @lefebvreetfils in collaboration with @spaxprojects @hellocestlel Still on display until 30th of may. 📸 Thanks to the talented @antoni_girardi for the picture. Théâtre des songes, 2026 Glazed ceramic 62cm x 54cm x 29,5 cm ‘Fascinated by modernity and technology, Martine Feipel (born in 1975) and Jean Béchameil (born in 1964) have been producing politically engaged works since 2008, questioning the world and the way in which humanity shapes it—or even endures it. The environment, urban planning and architecture are at the forefront of their concerns, whilst many of their creations are situated in the public realm. It is therefore no surprise to encounter, in the exhibition at the Lefebvre et fils gallery, small-scale architectural structures—like miniature worlds—ready to serve as backdrops for improbable stories. ‘Theatres of Dreams’ is a module comprising a small building with a pointed roof, an open porch and a cypress tree flanking it. A tribute to the artist de Chirico, reminiscent of the colourful kiosks in Italian Renaissance paintings, and evoking the leafy trees or lollipop-like yews of the painter Fra Angelico, the visual vocabulary of the duo Feipel & Bechameil brings all this together to create and present a highly personal universe.’ Thanks to @christine.germaindonnat #art #dreams #poetry #architecture #nature

One of our ´Shelters’ the ongoing serie of birdhouses, that we have been creating since years and for which we have been awarded the Coal Price in 2018 in collaboration with the @museedelachasseetdelanature Thanks to @coal_art.ecologie and to @lauranne_germond ! The last of the serie are showing @lefebvreetfils in Paris in collaboration @spaxprojects until 30 may! Don’t miss the show! Thanks to @antoni_girardi for the brilliant picture! Shelter, 2026 Glazed ceramic H37cm x 27cm x 26cm The « Shelters »—birdhouses and nesting structures—also speak of dwelling, habitat, and nature, another fundamental element of their work. Portrait-heads with sharp tongues, mini-robots with pierced ears, little figures with wired arms—these bird refuges possess a disarming humor and naive charm. One can’t help but want to collect them all in their most whimsical variety! Yet the shelter conceals the forest—the one in which birds grow fewer each year and silence becomes ever denser. In Feipel & Bechameil’s work, humans and nature are deeply intertwined, their respective survival dependent on one another. Don’t miss our exhibition ´A fleur d’eau’, if you are in Paris! Showing until 30th of may @lefebvreetfils in collaboration with @spaxprojects @hellocestlel 📸 Thanks to @hugardandvanoverschelde for the wonderful picture of the ceramic relief ´A fleur d’eau’, 2026 Glazed ceramics 220cm x 188cm x 15cm The duo draws us into a dreamlike world, both joyful and melancholic, where vegetation is omnipresent and giant flowers evoke a strange and enchanting universe. But upon closer inspection, beneath the apparent serenity of smooth, rounded forms, disappearance and death are subtly staged. There, atop a large betyl, a poppy flower evokes sleep; a scarablike insect suggests eternity; while a fixed-gaze portrait recalls the Fayum portraits—so near and yet forever distant: the work is in fact a funerary stele. Everything passes, everything fades—this is the central idea of the large bas-relief ´A fleur d’eau’, which gives the exhibition its title. Aquatic grasses and water lilies unfold across a soft green background, revealing themselves to be inhabited—by arms and legs, those of Ophelia, carried away, drowned, and finally at rest. The discreet evocation of Shakespeare’s legend bears witness to both the unrest of humankind and the emergence of death at the heart of beauty. Recent recipients of the Luxembourgish sculpture prize Schlassgoart 2025 for their work « Inséparable »—a foot pierced through with algae and giant grasses—Martine Feipel and Jean Bechameil have chosen ceramic as their sole medium for this exhibition at Galerie Lefebvre & Fils. They have sculpted, molded, bas-reliefs and shaped pieces with a unified energy, handling glazes with great delicacy. Seemingly joyful yet deeper than they first appear, with dream and surprise as as guiding threads, these works are on view until May 30, 2026, at Galerie Lefebvre et Fils. Thanks to @christine.germaindonnat for the beautiful text. Thanks to @simonemachuel for the great assistance. Thanks to @kulturlx for the generous support.

Views from “À FLEUR D’EAU”, an exhibition introducing a series of new ceramic works created by artists Martine FEIPEL and Jean BECHAMEIL during The Residency Program in Versailles, in collaboration with SPAX PROJECTS. Through these works, the artists explore the fragile interdependence between humans, nature, and industry, tracing subtle connections between animals, plants, oceans, air, and earth. The exhibition unfolds as a reflection on cycles of time, memory, and return to the land, inviting a renewed awareness of our place within the living world. On view until May 30. 📸 : @_yosukekojima
