You came for the woodworking, but stayed for the hair.
After 50 years, I finally like my hair. My mom used to strap me to a chair with leather belts to cut it, so needless to say, I cut my own hair until recently (insert trauma recovery).
Amazing what a real haircut and the right products can do. I never really knew how to treat my hair. I always described it as the hair God forgot — coarse and uncooperative.
For the first time, I actually like my hair. I am at peace.
Walnut and Lacquer Nesting Coffee Table
Not a hard edge in sight.
Shown in Fiery Opal high gloss lacquer—soft, continuous, and easy on the eye. Turned solid Walnut legs, love all the variations between the heartwood and sapwood.
Feeling such pride. Our River Stone Incense Burner was included in the New York Times Style Magazine’s Valentine’s Day gift guide, alongside some truly incredible makers.
The piece highlights how we model our carved incense burners on time worn river stones, with inlaid brass rods that accommodate different incense diameters and allow for easy removal of unburned nubs—a detail that matters deeply to us (if you know, you know). They are calming sculptural objects—tactile and smooth. Your touch continues the process, softening even the finest edges. I’m so grateful Laura captured something so essential to me in her writing. My hope is to continue softening into presence, healing, tenderness, and love.
Grateful to be in such thoughtful company, and to T Magazine for the feature.
