SPACECRAFT specializes in small custom interiors and hand-tooled furniture, fixtures, and objects. While we champion a modern, minimalist aesthetic, we also embrace the ornamental, hand-hewn, and homespun. Our work spans the gap between boutique craft and adaptive reuse and has been featured in both residential and commercial contexts. All of SPACECRAFT’s products are designed and made to order in our workshop in the foothills of Portland, OR.

Ranch hand ingenuity and industrial pragmatism produce some satisfying details throughout the construction of the Lounge Chair by @spacecraftpdx
Lounge Chair is like a cow skull in the desert. Clean-lined and resistant to time, it bears evidence of a vigorous past life. A folky, fluid critter with good lumbar support, it encourages an attentive posture and is lovely to sit in cross-legged. Details include hand-shaped Eastern ash sculpted through exposed joinery, a bent plywood seat and back upholstered in hand-stitched leather, and a cattle brand on the rear side.
MATERIALS: SOLID EASTERN ASH, BENT PLYWOOD, 1” HIGH RESILIENT FOAM, HAND-STITCHED LEATHER

“Bead Legs Lite” Dining Table by @spacecraftpdx
This dining table is currently made from an historic walnut tree we saved from Grandpa’s farm before it was paved over to make way for a parking lot [cue the tears]. While the French farmhouse style may be the design’s point of departure, SPACECRAFT adds some extra sugar, salt, oil, and MSG. Featuring hand-turned legs, a mortise and tenon structure, and an extra beefy, 2-inch thick, solid slab top with radiused corners and underside edge, this table is a true antique in the making.

A trophy. A totem. A fertility symbol? Above the bed or over the fireplace, Bull Horns are an amulet for your space and speak to the spirit of the unbranded maverick. Salvaged Doug fir horns are hand-shaped through the bridle joints, turned on the lathe, finished with a silky hand-rubbed oil, and flush-mounted to the wall on a hidden cleat. Available with colored tips or au naturel.
