Our little book received two awards at @indiebookawards last night!🥰♥️
Neither of us ever imagined we’d one day be at a book award event. The journey of this book started off so casually—just some Space Rabbit observations we were posting on social media. At one point we thought about turning them into a pocket card set, but eventually we realized that making a book felt like the most sincere way to share our art.
We didn’t know anyone in publishing, so we printed the book ourselves. Communicating with the printer, figuring out materials, handling everything—this was all new to us. We’ve done plenty of digital projects, but never something this physical.
The biggest fear was that all the copies would just sit in boxes, unsold.😱
We started bringing the book with us to toy conventions. At first, we were unsure how people would respond. But then we began to notice the quiet smiles and laughter when someone found a page that resonated. That gave us confidence to try small consignment deals with local bookstores, five to ten copies at a time. Every sale mattered, and still does.
Last night we sat in a room full of incredible authors and publishers. It was humbling and inspiring, and reminded us why we create—to connect, to share, and to keep telling stories in our own way.😊

We had such a blast at @lumafestival last weekend! 🐰🚀
Projection mapping is something we’ve been wanting to try for a while, and seeing Space Rabbit waving at us from a three-story historic building was just magical.
For us, it feels like a conversation between the artist, the architecture, and the audience. Watching our piece along with so many other amazing works light up the town was so inspiring.🥰

Space Rabbit started about three years ago as a simple idea, not a character. We wanted a “space” to share our art with the world, and since our previous job also had “rabbit” in the name, we grabbed the word and ran with it. Over time, we saw the magic in this character and turned it into something bigger, a vessel for stories. From art toys to animations to illustrated books, he has helped us share our imagination with you.♥️🚀
We are a tiny team in a small studio. Wendy handcrafts every physical piece, while Kun-I brings sketches and photos to life on screen. We have learned not to kill each other by having clear roles based on the type of project. One leads and the other follows, so we do not step on each other’s toes (most of the time).😅
Our studio is cluttered these days, and we often joke about dreaming of a garage workspace. Still, this little space has given us so much joy and so many memories.🐰🛸

This will be our first time sharing our little universe of art toys and animation in Japan, which feels extra special because we grew up surrounded by Japanese pop culture, films, games, toys, and stories that shaped how we create today.
Right now, we’re doing last-minute Japanese practice, triple-checking our luggage, and trying very hard not to forget anything important.😅
We can’t wait to say hi, shake some hands, trade stories, and maybe collect a few warm hugs next week.

We took one day off after coming back from the UK… and now we’re preparing for another tour. ✈️
Since last year, we’ve been exploring the Asia market to see how people connect with our work. It definitely hasn’t been easy because over there, no one really knows us yet. Sometimes it feels like people walk right past our booth without seeing us at all.😓
And honestly, what makes us feel the most homesick is missing the warm greetings from our fans, collectors, and friends. We miss the familiar faces we always get to hug at shows.🥰
But we still want to explore. Being “new” again has given us a different perspective. And while it takes time for shy Space Rabbit to open up, we’re slowly making friends there.🙌🙌🙌
So even though our tour schedule is pretty intense, we’re very excited for what’s ahead. 🐰✨

This is a design that’s personal to me:
The end of 2025 was heavy for us, both mentally and physically. With so much happening at once, I found myself longing for solitude just to process it all.
When I finally found the space to breathe and heal early this year, the idea for “Patchy Space Rabbit” was formed.
I’ve always been deeply attached to my things because I have a hard time saying goodbye; I’d much rather mend something than replace it.
I find the process of patching things up deeply rewarding, and I’ve realized the human heart works much the same way.
Difficult moments can leave holes within us, but we can heal them one stitch at a time. When we look back, every patch is proof of our resilience, life might not be the same, but we can patch up the memories and keep on living.
Side note, it takes much longer to paint each patch and stitch on Space Rabbit than I expected, but I enjoyed it as a meditation session. 🙂
