KITTEN UPDATE:
Social media is a beast, but I do appreciate the rare moments when it aids in crowdsourcing care and love. Thank you to everyone who reached out! I’ve also worked closely with a vet (who had been saintly giving me free checkups) to find a highly-trained permanent foster for these high-needs bbs. And now they’ve finally got a new home!
A couple weeks ago I found a trapped, dying, 2-week old kitten and was eventually able to reunite it with its 4 abandoned siblings, but I ended up having to take them all in and nurse them literally around the clock just to keep them alive (they were in really bad shape). It was unimaginably emotional and stressful - 5 tiny babies is a lot! It’s been a very delicate situation and I cried a lot, but they’re getting so much stronger and they’re all still alive 🙏. I miss them already, but I’m grateful that they’re now safely in the hands of another loving foster. 💗
If anyone wants to adopt one when they’re old enough, lemme know!

For my birthday today, I’m donating hundreds of dollars to various BLM movements, funds, and memorials. I’m also purchasing a range of literature written by black authors, particularly black feminist authors, to add to my collection and to continue educating myself in critical and essential ways. Lastly, I’ll continue to get out there and protest, as I have at least once a day for the past week and a half. It is absolutely our duty to amplify black voices wherever we can, so if you have an acute distaste for social media (as I do) I’d encourage you to hit the streets and use your voice IRL wherever possible. 💓
