thank you so much to @ben.stopfel and @reallovewpg for giving us our first show!! we’re so grateful to everyone who came and supported us, to @publicdomainwpg for being our birthplace venue, and to @elio.ugrin for setting the tone for a very special and beautiful evening. we’d also be remiss not to double thank Ben for learning and writing lead guitar parts for ALL OF OUR SONGS since we still don’t have a full-time guitarist. he is a champ among champs. it was truly such a delight top to bottom and i’m still riding the high of it. we are so excited to play again in the new year, and we hope we will see you at the next one. take care of each other, and let love and compassion be the guiding principles of your life in 2026. 🙏📕💨

FLOOD TV - a song i wrote about one of many childhood apocalypses. we’ll be playing this one when we open for @ben.stopfel on December 28th at public domain (presented by @reallovewpg )! hope to see you there . they built a line of blue tiles to commemorate the time i thought that the world was ending i thought the world was ending the water had come up so high the stairs had disappeared i thought it’d be that way forever i thought it’d be that way forever i don’t know why my mind is animated by those times when nothing was fine all of my lows are well outnumbered by my highs so why are they so hard to find? they built a line of blue tiles to commemorate the time i saw my dad on the tv i thought that he could see me i waved at him and said “hi” but did not get a reply he just kept moving sand into my grandpa’s waiting hands, oh man that was 1997, i was five barely knew i was alive now, once again, i’m terrified the tide will rise, hiding those two lines of blue tiles

SPEEDREADER is a new musical project by Keegan Steele, former lyricist and multi-instrumentalist of Winnipeg’s explosive art rock powerhouse Yes We Mystic (2011-2022 RIP). as a personal challenge to himself, Steele picked up the guitar—an instrument he somehow never properly learned to play—and decided to trade in the complexity and bombast of his previous band for simplicity and familiarity. ☼ this new batch of songs (some of which he’s been sitting on since YWM was still active) blend folk, rock, new wave, and 90’s alternative to deliver honest and vulnerable dialogues between the lower and higher Self. ☼ joining him on this venture are Kirk Kitzul (drums), Alex Kohut (bass), and Charlie Fraser (keyboards). ☼ their first ever show is on December 28, where they will be opening for @ben.stopfel , presented by @reallovewpg . they are all so excited to meet you.
