Opening celebrations will be held on the Thursday evening, 6pm - 8pm.
âVeer attends to moments when language fails to complete itself.
Through rhythms of inscription, the tremor of the body, provisional surfaces and spaces, meaning emerges not as a fixed outcome, but as a continuous state of emergence.
Acts of holding and suspending, connecting and stretching form temporary structures where traces remain as the material residue of thought. Here, deviation is not an error, but a possibility for moving outwards.â
Huge thanks to everyone who came to the opening last night đ
And thank you to the team at @georgepatongallery and @umsuunimelb for the space, the opportunity, and all the support in bringing this show together.

Translucences
Soyo Paek
âTranslucencesâ emerges from asemic writing, extending into a language of bodily, material gestures. Within this interlaced space of drawing and painting, traces, absences, and moments of becoming make visible the shifting states of perception, language, and translation, resisting closure and remaining open-ended.

Dear friends and fellow artistsâsharing my upcoming solo exhibition at George Paton Gallery. Hope to see you there!

5-27 FEBRUARY 2026
OPENING: 5 FEBRUARY, 5-7PM
GEORGE PATON GALLERY
Translucences expands from asemic writingâmark-making without literal languageâinto a field where drawing and painting overlap. The works explore states of partial visibility, tracing how language, translation, and perception shift through traces, absences, and moments of becoming rather than fixed meaning.
