We want you to hear this from us first about what happened today at Sox Place. Today was a hard day at Sox Place. Earlier today, one of our regulars and someone we care deeply about was shot on our patio by another individual who has also frequented our space. He was taken to the hospital and we’ve been told he is expected to survive and is currently in surgery. Police responded quickly and secured the scene. Our staff is safe. All other guests are safe. These aren’t strangers to us. These are people we know. People we’ve built relationships with. People we care about. We’ll share updates as we can. Thank you for standing with us and please continue to pray for us and the people that come here.

I’m deeply thankful for Doyle’s outstanding community work, so I honored him by painting his portrait on his building @soxplace . Doyle’s nonprofit empowers young people and those in need, and I believe his selflessness is truly worthy of recognition. Thank you, Doyle, for being a beacon of hope and kindness. #mural #portrait #painting #spraypaint

Dear Friends, At Sox Place, Christmas is more than a holiday. For many of the street-connected youth we serve, it’s a moment of hope—and often, the first time they’ve ever had the chance to choose a gift for themselves. This year, we’ve created a special Amazon Wish List filled with items they picked out. Not what others thought they needed. Not hand-me-downs. Real gifts—chosen by our youth with joy and anticipation in their eyes. Some have never experienced this kind of dignity before. The act of choosing their own present—of being seen and having their voice matter—can be healing in ways that go far beyond the wrapping paper. If you’d like to join us in spreading that kind of love this season, just click the link below, select a gift, and it’ll ship directly to Sox Place. LINK IN BIO easy to do quickly on Amazon! https://a.co/0j0H55M

Dear Friends, On Saturday, November 15th, we celebrated a Sox Place legend—Doyle Robinson. Burgers were grilled, tears were shed, and laughter echoed as old friends, former street youth, and current staff came together to honor the heart behind Sox Place. Stories were shared. Hugs were long. And yes—there were a few hot dogs too many. Doyle reminded us, “I’m not dying—I’ll be back.” And we believe him. Because you don’t just walk away from something you’ve poured your life into. You carry it with you. Always. Thank you to everyone who came out to show love. And if you missed it, don’t worry—we’ll be sharing some video highlights soon. With gratitude, Jordan Robinson Executive Director, Sox Place P.S. As Doyle steps into his next season, we’re still here—still showing up for Denver’s street youth every single day.

From the Streets to Stability. Solomon came to Denver at 18, carrying the weight of a rough street life in Chicago. Jail time. Constant struggle. No stability. That all changed when he found Sox Place. “This place helped me change my life,” he says. Today, Solomon has a job, two daughters, and a future he’s proud of. He left the streets behind—and never looked back. This is what love looks like. This is what family does. This is why Sox Place exists. 🖤 Help us continue this work. 📦 /donate-to-sox-place/ #SoxPlace #FromTheStreetsToStability #HopeInAction #DenverYouth #StreetMinistry #TransformationTuesday #RealStories

Every now and then, someone walks through our doors who reminds us why Sox Place exists. Lawrence came back last week—not for food, or clothes, or a place to crash. He came back to say thank you. “I’m no longer homeless,” he told us. “I’m moving into my new home with my wife and kids this weekend.” Four years ago, Lawrence was in a storm. He’d lost everything. He was couch-hopping, broken, and angry. He met his wife while they were both just trying to survive. Arguments, instability, and pain were daily realities. But something shifted. “I couldn’t control me,” he said. “But I found faith in God—and His grace helped me to really change.” Sox Place was there during that rainy season—offering food, clothing, safety, and dignity. It wasn’t everything. But it was enough to keep him afloat. Today, Lawrence owns a business. His company, LTGR Proper Solutions, is a registered civilian government contractor. He’s not just surviving—he’s thriving. And he says it plainly: “It’s nothing but the grace of God—and people like Sox Place.” You may never meet Lawrence. But if you’ve prayed for this place, volunteered, donated, or even just cared from a distance… you helped make that story possible. Denver needs more stories like this. And with your help, we’ll keep showing up in the storms.
