Our first showcase at the principal D.C. institution has arrived. Alongside our friends at Para ( @para.presents ), we’ve packed the bar with two dynamic and unpredictable selectors, blending high-BPM genres that complement the raw power of the talent upstairs. A seasoned vocalist, musician, bandleader, curator, and radio host, Lex Nell ( @lexnellmusic ) joined the Durham, North Carolina music scene in 2022 after more than a decade in Brooklyn’s art-rock world. Her DJ sets are immersive journeys through complex polyrhythms, cerebral melodies, and soulful grooves, effortlessly traversing house, techno, bass, club, breaks, and leftfield sounds. Nell has recently played Durham’s internationally recognized Slingshot Festival and currently holds a residency on the city’s longstanding Dancegruv Radio. In 2026, Nell takes her unique sound on the road, with her next stop landing in DC on February 28. Hot off his blistering Groovado set for HDC, Sovthpaw ( @sovthpaw_ ) steps into the Flash Bar with his signature blend of bass, UKG, and techno, kissed with classic soul and R&B. The Baltimore-based DJ has been hosting and performing throughout the DMV for over a decade, displaying a deep versatility and a sharp ear for music.
