The Father’s delight is in the Son, not in our talent, our presence, or our performance. And yet that’s exactly where our eyes drift when we step onto a platform. We start to ask questions, am I doing well? Do I sound good? Are people engaged?
But that’s not what pleases the Lord. What pleases Him is what has always pleased Him - the glory of His Son. And that’s the whole job of a song leader: to point. To get out of the way and direct every eye to the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Your gifts are real. Your preparation matters. But they’re not the point, they’re just the means. The point is Jesus
