Thank you everyone for coming to the Beautiful Mutants opening last night! That was so awesome. I’m so happy to be included in this show. Thank you @mutmuzgallery !
Details. Current drawings. I’ve been drawing these kinda of things for years and years, off and on, always sorta in the shadows (with my paintings being in the light), almost bashfully, which, however compelling and compulsively I drew them, I was always kinda like, “Oh yeah…” with a shrug, blushing, about them, you know? But over the past year or so, for whatever reason (most likely a profound reason I can’t put into words), they’ve exploded into something else I cannot deny. New shapes. New textures. New spacial and contextual relationships. These new creatures and beings seem to look and feel better than my past things. My shading and line work have gotten better, too, I think. #sovaliskaart
Some current drawings of mine. I’ve never thought of these things as “aliens” as in “outer space.” They’re definitely “alien” in that they’re not from here (perhaps they’re from some place better.) They’re hyper-evolved. Evolved lifeforms that are not human, perhaps from Earth’s future, or sentient organisms that live in some forest or jungle that haven’t been mapped yet, or maybe even from deep underground. Maybe they were created by humans in some secret lab and they escaped because they didn’t want to be experimented on anymore. Maybe they then invented space travel on their own, and when they came back to Earth years later to rescue the rest of their friends, they were mistaken as being extraterrestrial by the stupid human beings. #sovaliskaart
I think it’s great, like truly great, and it has one of the best synth scores I have ever heard. The demon lord is one of my favorite creature designs of all time, right up there with Audrey II.
