A widespread outage affecting the Canvas learning platform on May 7 disrupted access for SEMO students during the last stretch of finals week. Canvas became inaccessible for users mid-afternoon, preventing access to coursework and final exams. Students and faculty attempting to access Canvas were quickly met with either an error screen and logout prompt, or a message stating, “Canvas is currently undergoing scheduled maintenance.
