Most brands talk about durability, very few talk about what happens after something breaks. In Ep 22 of Honest not Perfect, James Sleater (CEO, Buffalo Systems) shares a perspective you don’t hear often: “We save the holes and patch over them - so the garment doesn’t lose its story.” From military use to everyday wear, these aren’t just products - they’re pieces of lived experience. And instead of erasing that, Buffalo builds it into the lifecycle. A reminder that repair isn’t just functional, it’s meaningful. 🎧 Watch the full podcast episode now - link in our bio! #Sustainability #ProductDesign #BrandStorytelling #CircularDesign #honestnotperfect

Our British Manufacturing Series continues ✨ Now onto Episode 6, where we visit DeeKay Knitwear Ltd!

In this episode, we explore a heritage-driven approach to British manufacturing - where precision, quality, and consistency are at the core of every piece. Deekay Knitwear specialises in premium knitwear, combining advanced manufacturing techniques with decades of expertise to deliver products that meet the highest standards. 🧶

We also speak about the importance of UK manufacturing today. As Director Arun Bagga explains, “A lot of people don’t realise that we have these factories here in the UK… I wish people understood that we can do this here, and when it comes to price, there isn’t much difference anymore.”
📍Want to meet the Deekay Knitwear team? Join us at Source Fashion, where you can connect with them in our British Pavilion!

It’s been a busy and exciting April for the Source Fashion team - here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

1. We kicked off the month with some big news: registration is officially open for Source Fashion July 2026. We’re delighted to be live - you can get you FREE ticket in our bio! 🌟

2. Pietro, delivered a brilliant sales presentation with a Lord of the Rings theme - fully committing by dressing as a hobbit🎤

3. We’ve also been out on the road filming for Season 2 of our British Manufacturing Series. Megan Strong visited LLUK, a luxury textile company, and we’re excited to share that video with you soon - keep an eye out!

4. Abigail Assinder also visited Knitster LDN, a UK knitwear manufacturer, where she spoke with founder Emma McClelland about the business. We’re pleased to say this episode is now live!

5/6. Suzanne visited DeeKay Knitwear Ltd, meeting with Director Arun Bagga and Raye Bagga to learn more about their high-quality knitwear manufacturing and the people behind the brand. We’re looking forward to sharing this story very soon!

7. Back at the office, Abi and Megan presented at our Retail Town Hall, sharing the fantastic progress of Source Fashion and giving a preview of what’s to come for the July 2026 show.❤️   8. As always, our team loves a bit of competition. This month’s Hyve challenge was an office clean-up - first team to fill a bin bag with rubbish won a free lunch. Needless to say, we were all keen to get involved! 🙌   9/10. To round off the month, we were proud to partner with Leicester Made - an event that brought together manufacturers, brands, policymakers, and industry voices. Elizabeth, Aminah, Megan and Suzanne attended, it great to connect with some of our July exhibitors as well as new faces. A special thank you to Jennifer Holloway for hosting such a fantastic event!

There’s a lot of talk in our industry about collaboration - but where it truly comes together in person is what really matters. Last Friday at Leicester Made & Regions was one of those moments, and as proud sponsors, we were delighted to be part of it. Bringing together manufacturers, brands, policymakers and industry voices in one room created something powerful: honest conversations, shared challenges, and a collective drive to spotlight the strength of UK manufacturing. A huge thank you to Jennifer Holloway and the teams behind Fashion Enter and the Apparel & Textile Manufacturers Federation for creating space for these discussions. It was inspiring to see so many UK manufacturers exhibiting, all demonstrating the quality, innovation and resilience that exists across the region. We’re looking forward to bringing everyone together again at Source Fashion, 7-9 July, at our new home, Excel London.
