A quick 5 🖐️tips for using our styling blocks:
1️⃣ Use them IN your photos as props - obviously they’re in your photos supporting your subject but they can be just as pretty as a part of your composition! ( ahem hello colored blocks!)
2️⃣ Curate your own set - tailor your set to your unique needs! It doesn’t have to be one size fits all!
3️⃣ Stack ‘em sky high - don’t be afraid to stack different sizes and thicknesses to layer allll the things!
4️⃣ Think outside the block 💡- We’ve literally used blocks for so many things at our shoots! To steady a wobbly table for a shot, fill in a hole in a bench holding a flower arrangement level, etc. when we say we use them all the time, it’s not just for our flat lays!
5️⃣ Waste not, want not! - We like to keep two sets (one to be seen in photos and one not) Our pristine set has some of our favorites to use as props in shots and then we have a larger set of supporting blocks (literally). Have a block that’s seen it’s better days in shots? Don’t toss it, just rotate it to be a supporting character in your styling kit!

Where are my perfectionists at 🙋🏻♀️ You know who you are—the person who dies a little inside when you see an angle off in an otherwise perfect flat lay. That's part of the reason a seemingly simple shot like this is so hard to perfect.
You set everything up by eye.
You take a snap with your phone to check the lines.
You tap tap tap to micro-adjust a few things.
You get real close to triple check and breath to hard.
You back up and see what you screwed up.
You tap tap tap to fix it.
You tell everyone in the room DON'T MOVE

Try to achieve balance and meaning in your compositions and vignettes—whether that's taking an asymmetrical and more whimsical approach to move the eye through the composition, embracing simplicity and white space or a more straight forward symmetrical setup, each can be just as gorgeous as the other, tell different stories and speak to different people.
Pull out props to help tell your story and add interest and depth with some acrylic styling blocks and don't be afraid to push yourself to look at things through a different lens (no pun intended)! Embrace stepping out of your comfort zone too—that's where the magic can really happen!”
