For this episode we’re joined by Jemma Burns and Charlie Lempriere of @pulse_points , to speak about their work on the @netflix reboot of the Australian TV series Heartbreak High @heartbreaknetflix . The soundtrack is an ode to Australian music across the spectrum including The Veronicas, DJ Plead, Courtney Barnett and Troye Sivan. We talk about how Australia is having a moment right now (musically and culturally), how music is perhaps THE key tool when trying to resonate with younger generation audiences, and Charlie also explains how he got his start as a music supervisor.

Grateful to have spoken with the wonderful @mfessmann about Wim Wenders’ film Perfect Days, a tender film that captures the feeling of true presence. The music in the film is oustanding (Nina Simone, Lou Reed, Patti Smith, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison…) We talk about how music can sometimes tell more of a story than visuals, the importance of an end credit song, and why cassette tapes are so good.

This episode is about ‘How To Have Sex’ from director @maamw , out now in the US and streaming on @mubi . The film explores how teenagers navigate the important topics of friendship, consent and peer pressure, which all become heightened in the environment of a hedonistic holiday abroad. Speaking with music supervisor Catherine Grieves, we look at the pivotal role that music plays, in both the film, and more broadly in these party-fueled holidays.

This episode’s guest is @thibaultdeboaisne , music supervisor and founder of boutique agency Sound Division. We discuss his work on the Palme D’or-winning ‘Anatomy of a Fall’, from director Justine Triet. We talk about the absence of a score in the film, the circumstantial decision to use a 50 Cent cover as a central motif, and the importance of the piano in Justine Triet’s films.
