MAGIC, MAGIC, MAGIC ---------> sound!
This is why I love sound so much. Via cymatics we can observe the structure, dynamics of waves and vibrations and harmonic oscillations. If you were to be present during a cymatics experiment you would hear a sound and simultaneously see a pattern forming in a substance which had been placed on a vibrating membrane or perhaps a steel plate. What started out as an inert "blob" of sand or water, without movement, form, or pulse, would instantly transform into an animated, pulsating form as soon as the plate or membrane was excited by vibration.
And then to think what sound may do to the human body and our brainwaves. WOOP!
She sings, Mother Nature. And oh how we can peel apart the layers, the details, and the nuances of sound when we open our ears and close our mouths. I am looking forward to weaving these tapestries of birdsong with some analogue synths to produce some new sound meditation tracks.

3-HOUR YOGA & SOUND BATH IMMERSION THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON
I am delighted to be holding space with my lovely friend Carolyn from @whole_heart_yoga_ who shares the benefits and joy of yoga with women, teens and children.This will be an afternoon of gentle movement, rejuvenation and a sound bath, alongside afternoon tea. In this afternoon retreat we are giving ourselves full permission to rest, and I will be utilising gongs, quartz crystal bowls, singing bowls, a shruti box, chimes and various other sound creation tools to deepen and enhance a relaxation response, and may serve to down-regulate our nervous systems. We are currently 75% full and are inviting anyone who may feel this calling to book soon. It will be a good one.
In acknowledgement that we live, work and play on land that was forcibly taken from Aboriginal people, a proportion of all proceeds from this event will be donated to ‘Pay The Rent’. The rent is allocated to both justice and survival needs for indigenous communities in Victoria. A big thanks to those that will be here to contribute to this cause

BESPOKE GONG BATH
This Sunday afternoon @iamthatyoga .
This session will be a sonic delight with my Symphonic, Mercury and Earth Creation gongs. These acoustic instruments have unique properties that enable them to store and transmit energy/vibrations which bathe the listener. As the gongs sing and entrain with each other they may produce surging and pulsing effects, offering you the opportunity for deep listening, and explorations of meditative and relaxed states. This event is capped at 15 participants for a tailored and intimate sound experience.

MY GONG ADDICTION IS BACK!
Welcome to the family 'Sound Creation Earth Gong'. This new baby is musically dynamic with an earthy low soothing bass to high singing overtones. She swells with ascending pitches. Sometimes she purrs and gargles, and sometimes she produces choral-like, human-like singing tones. I can't wait to share the sounds and bring the whole family to @iamthatyoga this Sunday afternoon for our '3-Gong Bespoke Gong Bath'.

I look back at this sound bath @superbloomfestival and it feels like another era.
My heart goes out to live music. At present, acording to 'Music Victoria', music alone is operating at less than 5 % of pre-COVID levels as a result of continual border closures and social distancing regulations. Since March 2019 there has not been a single national tour undertaken by an Australian artist and there has not been a single festival run at full capacity. Each time there is another COVID-19 cluster or a quarantine breach, any plans to trade again are halted. Musicians, sole traders, venues, clubs, festivals, music businesses and the industry remain out of work.
For now, we may cherish the smaller, more intimate gatherings. Perhaps they remind us of why we, as humans, gather - how powerful that can be - and this we can re-remembered in a smaller group. The music and live entertainment industry will be one of the last to be able to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and so supporting local artists is so important right now.
