“oh spirit of soul…” and just like that collective thread 2026 is a wrap, 7 weeks flew by and I miss it already. always grateful to Leah for her continued stewardship, and just being an all around beautiful human! also sending a thank you to @hiartsnyc for the support and a space to share ♥️ this is the first time in a while that I’ve made a phrase and stuck with it, save some changes encouraged by our weekly composition exercises. “came to flex just a little…” ✨ • with some encouragement from my mentor (shoutout mama Charmaine), this past June I self-produced my first solo showing in NY titled “me to me:”, a solo improvisation on love and freedom. I’m so grateful to everyone who came and made that evening in the attic studio so special. I’ve done a lot of things that I’ve loved, but this project means so much to me. it speaks directly to a part of me I’ve been trying to unlock since I left for college. and while it’s an ongoing journey, the process of finding freedom feels urgent these days. and like I do with all phenomena of existence, I’ve used movement to navigate self-fulfillment, and I feel the closest I’ve ever been to figuring some sh*t out lol. a special thank you to my beautiful sister @the_highs_lows for constructing the sound score and helping me make this happen. we’ve collaborated sonically on almost every piece I’ve made and I can’t wait to see what else we create together. 🤍 and shoutout @kathrynhuang_ for her insane eye, I’ve officially been snapped by Kat eowww 💁🏾‍♀️ footage soon come! #movementartist #nycdance #improvisation #foryou #fromthesoul
