Black Women of DC| Keyonna Jones Keyonna is a Washington, D.C. native, artist, entrepreneur, and community advocate working at the intersection of creativity and culture. With a background in journalism and a Master’s in Science Management, she brings both vision and strategy to her work. She is the founder of the Congress Heights Arts and Culture Center (CHACC), where she creates access to meaningful artistic experiences for communities east of the river, and serves as Board Chair of The Creative School, supporting youth through arts and education. A multidisciplinary creative, Keyonna is a tattoo artist specializing in line and one-line work, as well as a photographer, graphic designer, stylist, and gardener. Her work has been recognized across D.C., including being selected as one of seven artists for the Black Lives Matter Plaza mural. She has collaborated with the Washington Mystics, Washington Commanders, and Pharrell Williams’ Something in the Water Festival. In 2022, she received the 37th Annual Mayor’s Arts Award for Excellence as a Community Arts Advocate. As a Black queer woman and mother of two, Keyonna’s work is grounded in creating the spaces and opportunities she once sought, using art as a pathway for reflection, growth, and positive social change.
