Hi 👋🏽 sharing a little back story for anyone out there who needs to know: your journey is taking you somewhere, follow ur heart and never give up!
❤️ at 24 I was lost, deciding I wanted to be a buyer (Rachel from friends heavily influenced me) but with zero qualifications I became obsessed with how I could make it happen, one night I told my sisters friend (@mor__style ) who I didn’t realise but was working as a buyers admin for Claire’s Accessories (one of only a handful of major retailer head offices in our area - as we don’t live in London) there was an admin job going and she got me an interview. Of course I didn’t get it, I called them up and asked if I could work with them for free for the next 4 weeks to get experience. ( I was working at Selfridges in personal shopping at the time and begged to get 4 weeks off for travel! 🤫) they said yes and I worked over at every opportunity and gave it my all. They offered me a buyers admin job at the end of it, despite being the only one there with no degree. I worked my way up staying with them for 5 years doing a job I absolutely LOVED and looking back now at all those different jobs I had stacked up such valuable experience for setting up Soru. ❤️
I truly believe mindset is everything, believe in yourself and get back up after knock backs (anyone out there wanting to start their own business this is something you need to take on board- because there will be lots of knock backs along the way!) Xx
