When Strength Meets Science 🔧
This week in the lab we put the DropBear pedal shaft through a brutal load test — 770kg of force on camera, with failure not until 1026kg. ⚙️🔥
For context, 770kg is more than three times the typical safety rating… roughly the kind of hit you’d get from dropping a rider over 12 metres straight down. In other words: far beyond anything a pedal should ever need to survive — and ours still held strong. 🪓

50 years ago, Keld and Vivi Sorensen—two passionate Danes—took the big leap and decided to embark on an engineering adventure. In 1974, the year their son Julius was born, they started a new business with the desire to shake things up in the engineering world. They worked hard, took risks, developed award-winning machines, won large manufacturing contracts and supported each other through thick and thin, all the while continuing to stoke the fires of invention.
This year, we celebrate half a century of innovation and excellence! Over the coming months, we will be sharing some of the stories of our incredible 50-year journey and pay tribute to the amazing family, staff, customers, and suppliers who have been a part of the Sorensen adventure so far!
