A few sneak peeks at the process, including exactly how they arrived which is equally amazing!!! Opening this Saturday May 16th from 6-9pm, and you can meet the mind behind all this brilliance, @bygriffinliu Dream of Dawn by Yuming “Griffin” Liu Opening reception: Saturday, May 16, 2026, 6 - 9 PM Exhibitions run May 17 - June 28, 2026 Yuming “Griffin” Liu’s work explores themes of displacement, solitude, and the tension between institutional control and human agency through surreal miniature landscapes. Shaped by his family’s seven-year limbo as asylum seekers, his practice reflects the emotional weight of waiting—for decisions, responses, and permission to move forward. In these works, waiting becomes a condition of powerlessness under bureaucratic systems. Liu transforms that experience into scenes where reality and imagination merge, creating landscapes of poetic melancholy, psychological tension, and dreamlike stillness.

Catch the beginning next Saturday May 16th from 6-9pm, as this exhibition continues to transform until the closing. Closing Reception: Saturday, June 27, 2026, 6 - 8 PM Savannah’s Closing has a Summer beach theme-So feel free to dress to the theme or to come as you are. Exhibitions run May 17 - June 28, 2026 SooVAC’s Front Space Residency Presents: Savannah Tines will be the first artist to participate in SooVAC’s pilot program, the Front Space Residency. Throughout 2026, artists will create work both on-site and off-site during their exhibitions, allowing their projects to evolve and adapt over the course of the show. Tines will have a closing reception to showcase how the work has developed over the course of her exhibition, A Walk in the Night. Savannah Tines is a multidisciplinary artist who creates speculative ecosystems where nature intersects with the remnants of technological collapse. Her work, grounded in sculpture and abstraction, combines materials such as glass, metals, and found objects with living systems, including fungi and aquatic plants. These immersive installations act as microclimates that breathe, decay, and regenerate, exploring themes of mortality, adaptation, and ecological grief. @savannahtines10 ; Exhibitions opening also include: We all live with dreams by Jay Katelansky @shiftingself and Dream of Dawn by Griffin Liu @bygriffinliu

Here’s an in progress shot of one of the shows opening next weekend đŸ©”. Jay Katelansky’s art explores how Black bodies navigate safety in the United States. Their exhibition, We All Live With Dreams, poses the question of whose dreams we inhabit: our own or those inherited from our ancestors. This solo exhibition reflects on how we carry the hopes, sacrifices, and love of those who came before us as we navigate the milestones that shape our lives. The work celebrates the human inclination to dream of better futures while also honoring what we already have. @shiftingself

We’ve got a couple years to go but it’s almost been 20 years of working together, through about a thousand ups and downs we’ve kept SooVAC going, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s been an honor and a privilege serving the arts community đŸ’šđŸ™ŒđŸŒ Here’s to many more @carpandapayne @alisonhiltner
