Found another good recipe to use with the fresh Yucca flowers.i heated up some apple vinegar lemon juice, salt, chili peppers, sugar in a pot and tossed the Yucca leaves in while cooking down. Because Yucca is a relative of succulents the leaf soaked up the vinegar and became like sliced ginger—just like in Sushi restaurants The pickles last a long time and it’s well worth it
Yukka plants are blooming now before summer. It’s a common garden plant in Japan so I find them in parking lots and park entrances. When the flowering season comes the plant shoots out a tall bloom stick with many white flower clusters. The leaves have a delicate crunch and fragrance. Remove the center stigma pistil and anthers and enjoy it raw in salads or pickled #yucca #yucca flowers #ユッカ

Wild radish grows abundantly near the sandy beaches which allows the roots to actually stretch down and grow longer than in the forests. The young leaves and small white roots are tasty in salads and soups but I came too late and the plants had already come to flower. I heard the oddly-shaped seed pods were edible so I stir-fried some and they turned out pretty good. Crunchy and kind of watery inside. #foragerjapan
