Over the last few months, we’ve been collaborating with @sonokagram from Featured Projects Festival @fp_designing on the design of a monospaced typeface with two widths: full-width (1000 units) and half-width (500 units), intended for grid-based typesetting alongside CJK characters. The half-width matches half the width of a kanji character, while the full-width aligns exactly with a kanji character. The type face is to be used on the featured project festival materials. Upcoming official launch of the Japanese guide to PLATES by Slogan Studio this Saturday! Sonoka from Slogan @weareslogan and Satoko @satokoyokoyam , the translator, will host the launch event, and the editor-in-chief and creative director of PLATES, Scarlett Meng @scarlettxmeng from RELATED DEPARTMENT will join the conversation online from NY. The discussion will explore the thoughts behind the creation and making of this design document for contemporary design practice and criticism, and the plan for its second issue.
