Son of 8-Bits is a lifelong devotee of electronic music, with roots tracing back to early childhood—handling vinyl before even learning to speak. Growing up on techno and house compilations rather than mainstream sounds, his taste evolved naturally toward faster, deeper, and more introspective territories. Starting production in 1999 on PlayStation-based DAWs like Music and Music 2000, he developed a raw, hands-on approach to sound. By 2003, he stepped into DJing, building his craft through house parties, local clubs, and underground scenes across Utrecht and beyond. His journey has taken him from the Netherlands to Japan, where he held a summer residency in Kobe and performed in Osaka, to desert parties in Fuerteventura and countless underground raves. Along the way, he has also organized intimate, sold-out events—always staying close to the core of independent electronic culture. Son of 8-Bits delivers a sound shaped by contrast—driving yet atmospheric, raw yet detailed—drawing from techno, electro, drum & bass, and jungle. Full set link in bio.
