After taking a 4 year break to rewire myself, not only did I return to the world of Directing BUT the day before wrapping on my upcoming short film Lipstick 🎬… I got a call from my agent telling me I FINALLY landed my first ever TV role! 🥳

10 years today since I launched SMOOTH DEMON and made my first ever short - TAINTED LOVE. Started out just wanting to prove to this so called “Diverse Industry” that “My Lot” can act without the Indian accent and stereotypes - but ended up teaching myself how to write, cast, direct, produce, edit (and the rest!) along the way.
Nowhere close to where I wanted to be but that’s mostly down to me still refusing to tick them boxes just to get on the telly. Hopefully, people will soon notice my talent over my skin tone.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me along this journey so far and a special thanks to those who refused to help me when I needed them - you guys will be remembered the most when I finally make it to the top!

After a multiple string of rejections, someone has finally recognised our work again! Our short film, Lipstick 💄 has been selected at the Pune Film Festival! 🎬
At Smooth Demon, we always like to challenge ourselves (and our critics) by making sure ALL our stories are not “same old shit” or too “in your face” when it comes to the very misunderstood “Asian Culture”.
Though it’s always a good feeling when our work gets recognised by a diverse audience, it’s always that extra special when it’s an all Indian audience from back home because it confirms the challenge paid off, I wasn’t slaughtered 🙄 and what I’m trying to achieve overall is definitely going to happen one day!
