I use Oxford Inflator a lot when I'm making music, and it can make stuff sound "better" pretty quickly. Great! Right?
Then I check the meters 😅
Sometimes, the level has gone up, and that matters because our ears often perceive louder as "better", "fuller", "wider", "clearer"… all that good stuff.
So before you judge any plugin move, it's good practice to level-match the output, bypass it a bunch of times and try to answer this question honestly:
Did the sound actually improve, or was it just louder?
