I need to share this with you ! 💫 You already know how much i love a hagstone. Im pretty sure you know of my love for wishing stones too. With all of that in mind, im sure that you can imagine my utter joy at finding this beautiful circular shaped wishing stone. One of the very best wishing stones that i have had the pleasure to find. She's gloriously round, gloriously curvy, very, very smooth, has a very nice weight to her, and she fits perfectly in the palm of my hand, oh and yes.... THAT CALCITE/ QUARTZ LINE RUNS ALL THE WAY AROUND, AS IN ITS A PERFECT CIRCLE. So the magic is that if i trace my finger around the quartz/ calcite line, thinking deeply, closing my eyes, and making a wish, and then tossing this stone back into the sea 🌊, as far as i can, then my wish will come true .💫 But nope, ive decided to hang onto this very special wishing stone, i definitely dont think i could throw this one back into the sea. Yet again, i was in full Gollum mode ( my precious 😅), and besides this wishing stone is just too beautiful, and i feel like its an earth treasure gifted just to me, and that makes me feel very special indeed. A perfect wishing stone gift. Maybe one day when i need a really big, big, BIG, wish to come true i may cast her back to the sea. But for now she shall sit on my little bedside table next to my bed. The air is filled with poplar cotton, which always reminds me of candyfloss. Its so beautiful to see, its kinda like little fairies floating around everywhere. Everything is covered in a gorgeous fluffy fluff, and to me that gorgeous fluffy fluff is natures candyfloss. 🌿 I love Beltane, a time where the mighty may Queen has awakened from her slumber and her signs are everywhere. We are surrounded by a growing and thriving season, a pulsing season 🌿. The earth is in bloom - and this is most definitely a time to be celebrated . I love how this wild collar has turned out. Its texture is rough (see the 6th picture:). The locks are long, full, thick and quite wild looking (again see the 6th picture). A beast size wild collar that feels very wild, feral, regal, and rebellious on the shoulders, and she smells damn fine too (see picture two). And yep i must admit, its another one of my creations that i have gone full Gollum mode for, and secretly want to keep for myself! 🙈 The locks in this wild collar are from a gorgeous, very cheeky looking sheep called a heideschaap - im reckoning that is why it looks quite rough and feral like, for the heideschaap fleeces can be quite rebellious. It always amazes me how each shorn fleece that i work with is very, very, very different to the next fleece, no two fleeces are ever the same, which is why every wild collar is completely unique, which i think is a very beautiful thing indeed. I will never tire of observing the magic, and the animalistic beauty of a shorn fleece, to go to your shepherd /shepherdess, to sort through the fleeces, to pick the best ones, and then come home with those woolly fleeces all bound up in a bag for you to work with - well it feels very special indeed. @hollynass you asked me to create you a large wolf like wild collar, with a few browns blended in. Well ta-da , i mean how more wolf like can you get, right !? I purposely chose to work with the locks of the heideschaap, as they tend to look a little more wolf like - well i think so anyway. Im extremely excited, extremely happy, extremely overjoyed, extremely giddy, extremely ecstatic for next Friday, as i got to place this wild collar onto your shoulders @charleigh__ann , like in the real world, and to me this will be a very special ceremony indeed. A wild woolly creation that I have spent hours creating, and thinking about, and then placing certain locks in a certain way to bring out those gorgeous foxy tones in this wild collar, an exchange from my hands to your hands @charleigh__ann - and i cannot wait for that moment, and in the roundhouse too !!! 🥹 You asked for a beast wild collar, a big wild collar, with those earthy, foxy tones blended in, and some caramel highlights peeping through - well, ta - da, here is that wild collar, and yet again, i secretly want to keep it for myself - im in full Gollum mode (AGAIN!!!! ). This photograph was taken yesterday, and the night was coming in quick , so the light isn't so great in these pictures , which means those reddy tones are not really visible because of the lighting, but I promise you @charleigh__ann , they are definitely woven in, you'll see what I mean when your wild collar is in your hands on Friday. Do you know what's really special about this wild collar ? In just 17 days ( at our wild gathering which is approaching fast now : ), i get to hand this wild collar over to its new owner. I get to place this wild collar onto its new owners shoulders in the cosy roundhouse with a fire going surrounded by other wild women, and im guessing there will be cheers and a few howls too. Its such an honour for me to create a wild , woolly piece such as one of my wild collars, and then get to meet that person in the real world, and to then place that collar onto their shoulders..... This is such a beautiful time 🌱. The soil is warming up. We made it through those cold wintery months!!!! And that fact alone calls for a celebration - right ! The spring equinox/Ostara is upon us - where life emerges from her wintery slumber, where nature and i shed that cold wintery skin - finally ! Its a magical time where birch trees are budding, and birch sap is flowing, and where my favourite flower is in full bloom. The wild daffodil. Its a joy to see shoots and new growth greening all around me as i go on my walk abouts 🌱 This is a time to dance and to celebrate the rebirth of soil and land, to celebrate life and balance, to celebrate a certain cleansing, to celebrate new beginnings and the arrival of spring. A wild collar that must be blessed by the sea , for this wild collar has been inspired by tales of the Selkie, by the sea, and inspired by the beauty of seals 🦭 . I feel like Cornwall was thrown into that inspiration pile too. @foxandblackthorn asked me to create this wild collar for her, and i love how she had her own ideas about her wild collar, to be honest its why I love to stick to doing commissions, cause that way my customers get to put their own finger print into their wild collars, they get to design their wild collars shall we say. So mysterious Selkies, and the sea, and seals and Cornwall it was. A handcrafted blanket for a vampire!!! Well certainly creating this blanket for @sirusmagic has felt very vampire/ dracula like what with those glorious reds and blacks 🧛🏼‍♀️. When @sirusmagic got in touch with me to ask if I would create one of my blankets for him , he was very specific.... "Only red and black please Sonia ". I even had to ask him two or three times to make sure that i understood correctly. "Yes Sonia , red and black - the magic coulors". So red and black it was, and im actually really chuffed with how it has turned out, it really pops - doesn't it !? The red and black are so vibrant, so eye catching, so wow looking. And whoever said red and green shouldn't be seen, clearly had no clue about anything, for look how beautiful the red in the blanket looks against the green grasses. The red sheeps wool is handyed, and the black is a gorgeous, natural black alpaca. Thank you @sirusmagic for asking me to create this handspun and handknitted blanket for you, i must admit i did have my doubts when you said , "just red and black Sonia ". So im really hoping that this little reel is not too repetitive! 🙈 I do realise that those who have a wee peek on my stories know all about my little puddle adventures 😅. But something grabbed and shocked me the other day. I posted on my stories a picture of me looking into a puddle, now granted it was a bit more exciting than this puddle looks, it had tree branches and everything, but unfortunately that little video is gone, hence my slightly more muddy puddle 😅. Anyways, i mentioned that whenever i see a reflection on a huge puddle, such as this, I cannot help but think of otherworlds, and somehow if I jump into this huge puddle ill end up in another world which is a reflection of this world, but different. I guess a little like Alice through the looking glass ✨️. I had so many of you lovely wild folk message me and thank me for sharing my puddle adventure. But this is the bit that shocked me..... A'lot of you said how you had forgotten all about puddle gazing, how you used to love gazing and wondering at puddles, and letting your imaginations fly high, but since becoming an adult - apparently not many of you practice it anymore - now this saddened me! A puddle is a natural mirror, it shows a shimmering parallel reality, it creates an upside down version of our surrounding world, and to me, that's very fascinating indeed ✨️. I can't shout it any louder. ITS FUN TO GAZE INTO PUDDLES, PLEASE DONT STOP!! Let's all gaze into puddles, lets not lose that childlike Wonder that we are born with, let us never tire of gazing into, well.... puddles. "Because maybe childlike wonder isnt childish at all. May i introduce you to the autumnal cardicoat (thanks @witch_hiker for the cardicoat tip , cardigan / coat was a bit of a mouth full 😅. This here is a piece that I have been working on for a little while now, in-between other commissions , my fingers were getting busy with this huge woollen creation. You all remember my black alpca raven cardicoat that I created a few posts back right ? (Which @bellyfire_bellydance has cleverly suggested we name the nevermore cardicoat - for obvious reasons 🐦‍⬛. Thanks Julie 😘🐦‍⬛). Well this is a slightly longer version of that cardicoat, @xentress asked me to create a gorgeous large, autumnal looking cardicoat for her. Different shades of browns and autumnal tones combined make up this cardicoat. As with all of my knitted garments, this piece is handspun and handknitted by me - and i have loved every moment of creating this handcrafted piece - a woollen piece that is birthed from my own pattern - and im quite proud of that. 😊 This huge, chunky knit, EXTREMELY WARM ( it was put to the test today - its so cold outside, im sitting typing this waiting for the snow to fall), is created from 100 % pure sheeps wool - and again , shes extremely warm !!!! @xentress , thank you for asking me to create this autumnal cardicoat for you, when i close my eyes, i see you already in this cardicoat and I know you are going to look spectacular in her - and be very cosy too.
