This is an album about black stars casting shadows on the present. Just like we can’t see if a dead star a million lightyears away is already dead, we can’t see if the future we have set our sights on actually exists. Becoming an artist and taking the risk associated with such a ludicrous, inadvisable and uneconomic „Lebensentwurf“ makes you constantly question your life’s choices and consider other paths you could have gone. But therein also lies the beauty and the greatest power of the artist. The pondering of eventualities is as important to successful art as any muse or idol. At least for me. The never-ending melancholy, the fear of failure and the boundless joy experienced during the creative process provide the artist with a new color for every day and a new melody for every night. Most of the time it is hard to separate the joy from sadness and the hope from despair. I worked on this album for the past 18 months and I have never made something that is such a concrete manifestation of my state of mind and a portrayal of my way of life. And while this is my darkest album since ‚Sondersensor‘, I also wanted it to be accessible and easy to dance to. This is a portrait of the artist as a young man and the backdrop is the urban dreamscape of a city that is eerily similar to the one I live in. The sound is dirty, urban and melancholic – the beats are simple and the textures are rich. In a way, this is the album I have always wanted to make. A culmination of the intensities and moods of the past two years. These moods will never disappear from my music but here they distilled to their clearest expression yet. #newmusic #electronicmusic #berlin #experimentalmusic

The Kandinsky Effect is often associated with synesthesia. Art, and music specifically, is able to convey meaning that defies language. Music is capable of capturing anything that is beyond understanding and render it tangible. What I appreciate about ambient music in particular, is its ability to freeze this moment of transcendence and stretch it out, so that it can induce the illusion of eternity. I am addicted to the sensation of uncovering bits and pieces of eternity while making music. Most artists I look up to are what I like to call ‚mood makers‘: artists that have an overarching atmosphere that permeates all of their work. This is something that I hope to achieve with my music and it is the guiding principle in every art form through which I choose to express myself. #electronicmusic #newmusic #experimentalmusic #spotify #berlintechno
