Two O'Clock Jump is a 1939 swing masterpiece originally performed by Harry James and his big band. While it draws inspiration from the legendary "One O'Clock Jump," its distinctive use of triplets and that iconic high-energy ending famously featured in versions by Benny Goodman and Harry James—sets it apart as a true powerhouse of the era. From Lionel Hampton using it as a theme to Count Basie’s "Jumpin' at the Woodside" following in its footsteps, this track is the heartbeat of big band swing.
In 2025, @swing.era.thailand brought the @thailandjazzorchestra back to the stage to breathe new life into this timeless classic! We were honored to feature special international guests to round out this massive sound.

It's been a month since the Swing Era event, and to be honest, I, myself, and most of our team still haven't fully recovered. I feel so blessed that there were people crazy enough to follow my vision. I just had some time to look at our photos, videos, and even the sound recordings, and I thought to myself, "Damn, not bad." I've realized that most of the time when it comes to Swing, I can be a bit too hard on myself (and my team). So, I'm going to take Reza's advice from 2024 and try to "smell the roses" along the way and list some things that come to mind.
The main dance venue looked really nice and was even better with the layers.
The opening show with Yusu was better than last year!
The music this year was BETTER, and we even got it recorded!
The jam session at the after-party was great as always.
The Backroom and Sitting Room were basically our heroes!
I got way better sleep during the event thanks to the team and volunteers.
Our cruise was better than I imagined.
Hua Lamphong's vibe was great
This list could go on and on, but the main point is, I made a lot of mistakes along the way, and I'm really grateful that I had my friends and my team who helped me carry and fix things to make Swing Era 2025 feel like magic again.
Right now, we're collecting all the feedback from participants and are cooking something up for 2026. If you'd like to support us and show us some love, or just want to relive the Swing Era experience again, on October 1st, we're going to launch a compilation album on Bandcamp. It will contain songs from all the artists who played at Swing Era 2025. You can get 22 songs for $10, which makes it less than $0.50 per track! Just go grab it and show us some love.
P.S. On top of that, Yusu Jazz Band, Thailand Jazz Orchestra - TJO, and the band from the musician tracks, "The Swing Era Cadets," are also going to release their music for you all that's four albums in total!
