Making this was such a fun moment, I want to tell you about it...
Last October I went to Madison, WI to visit my best friend since 3rd grade
@standishadair he is a brilliant film maker.
One night we went to
@turnkeysupperclub one of the three spots created by our dear old friend
@brianbartels as we walked through the parking lot, we had the spontaneous idea of making a simple 'dancing in the streets' style music video. He pulled out his phone and we tried it...
It was rough at first, but really fun. We found ourselves doing takes over and over again of the full song, dancing together through the entire length of the parking lot. It was so free and spontaneous, we decided we had to make it a 'oner' meaning there would be no edits, just one long live take.
The next night, we came back to the parking lot at Midnight when all of the patrons had driven away. We brought the *nice* camera and started shooting. After seeing the way my shadow looked on the cement at the end of the song, we got excited about a closing moment - I don't want to spoil it you have to watch - we called
@jessfrain16 who heroically stepped in and contributed brilliantly.
For me, this video captures everything in the song. It's the feeling of dancing and singing on your own. The feeling of remembering and forgetting. Nostalgia.
