Leaders don’t just create opportunities. They build pathways others can walk. At the 2025 AbunDance Awards, Michael Manswell @omoya9 was honored with the Leader of the Path Award, celebrating his commitment to guiding artists, strengthening community, and expanding spaces where creativity can thrive. Presented by @candancecreates Michael unapologetically charged the awards audience one year ago about the power of dance and what community really looks like. Leadership in the arts is measured by impact — and the paths left open behind you. Join us as we continue that journey. 📍 April 26th, 2026 at 4 PM — NYC 🎟 Tickets at AbundanceArts.org or link in bio. On International Women’s Day, Something Positive reflects with gratitude on the vision of our founder, Cheryl Byron. Through her work, she created space for women’s voices, stories, and strength to be seen and heard — a legacy that continues to shape our community and our stage. 💜 Many thanks to @dominickalipersad for capturing this recording of Cheryl Byron

Rev. Jesse Jackson was a giant among men: a freedom fighter, organizer, bridge-builder, and voice for those too often unheard. So many of us have stood on his shoulders, whether we knew it or not. His life expanded what was politically and morally possible. Rest in power.
