5 years of Something Made Custom!! 5 years of some of the best and hardest moments of my life. 5 years of hard work, determination, creativity, long nights, and early mornings. This business is my baby, I started this brand when I was still 18 and had just made the decision to drop out of my nursing program. I started posting on Instagram in the midst of COVID-19, as a way to share some of the clothing I was sewing and make a few extra bucks to the people in my hometown. I would spend my mornings and evenings driving all over town to hand deliver packages to everyone. I don’t remember the exact moment my page took off, I’ve sort of just flowed through these motions and never rushed or forced anything to happen. I’ve taught myself everything I know about running a brand, I’ve never had any form of mentor or schooling for this. I just knew that I was building something special here, and for the first time in my life, this felt like what I was meant to do. And fast forward to 2026! I’ll be 24 in July, I have 2 fashion shows under my belt (one being New York Fashion Week), I’ve done countless pop-up markets, I’ve gotten the chance to work in collaborate with so many incredible brands like Champion, and I’ve saved thousands of pounds of textiles from the landfill. I’ve done so many things in my career, but this one just hits so different. Being able to gift Vic his own custom Patchwork Sweater is something that holds such meaning to me. There’s nothing more inspiring to an artist like me than an artist who’s able to express themselves through music. This sweater was inspired by the meaningful lyrics sang & the powerhouse behind it. Thank you, Vic, for being such a kind soul & the coolest human. And that’s a wrap on my first runway show! I’m at a loss of words for this experience. Getting to be apart of NYFW and showcase my collection at 21 years old is something I never would have predicted for myself. I’m feeling so many emotions right now, all of which are utterly positive. I’m so blessed to have been surrounded by such an amazing team of people for my first show, I truly could not have asked for a better team of people. Thank you to Flying Solo for hosting such an incredible show, thank you to my amazing models who were so supportive and did an incredible job showcasing my creations, thank you to my awesome team, and thank you to all of YOU who have supported me so far in this journey.
