The date March 11th used to be just another day for our family. Now life is different..It is the day that Kevin left us. The day he allowed himself to move on and his work was done here..The foundation in his name has carried on his work for the last 14 years. We honor him for being the human being that he was. For being the fighter and teacher, and for his ability to laugh and make us laugh while fighting his own personal life battle. 14 years later we miss him terribly. There is still hardly a day that goes by that he is not mentioned or thought of in any quiet moment. Kevin has room 6220 at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, named after him. You can see his name when you arrive on the wall of the lobby . Nearly 2 decades of students in our hometown of Calabasas have been introduced to his incredible life and journey and many have benefited through his scholarships and programs in his name. Oh yes, his portrait hangs in the City library for his ability to share his story and change peoples lives. If he were to come back today, he would be proud of what he created in his life, and proud of what his brother Cade has created in his. No,it’s not just another day on March 11th. I think I am going to go to In-N-Out Burger and go and sit with him today for a bit.
