Went to Iceland. Took about 24 h to get there, no sleep. 😴 Worth it. Played derby, watched derby, saw lots of amazing stuff. ❄️💨☀️🛼

❄️ At 69°N @arcticrollerderby in Romssa/Tromsø is the world's northern most roller derby league ❄️ And guess what, the league's founder and coach Hell Broke Luce is one of our applicants! She was in the @teamnorwayrollerderby training squad last year, and a part of the team management at @rollerderbyworldcup 🛼
With this, this five-country national team for @mensrollerderbyworldcup is technically expanding outside of the historical Kalmar Union of 1397, which we have borrowed our name from. Yes, the union covered what is now Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Iceland. But the north of Sweden and Norway and inland Finland were not under the control of the nation states of Norway and Sweden back then. The indigenous Sámi didn't care much about nation state borders (and still don't).

And so my European interrail has come to an end. The first few days were lovely. Then on day five everything went downhill. After 10-11 hours of delays, cancellations, last minute platform changes, bus for train, heat and overcrowded trains (mostly scouts), I threw in the towel and booked a flight home! 👋🏻🚂😙🛫

The 2025 Roller Derby World Cup is over, and the derby blues is slowly healing. I’m so happy to have been a part of @teamnorwayrollerderby and to have shared this journey with so many wonderful friends. It was my greatest pride and joy to be the team physiotherapist, and get to use my skills to help the players perform on track. Thank you all for making me feel included and useful! 🇳🇴❤️
