Last week, @pairofkingspod sat down with @wesly at @neuehouse to discuss the explosion of popularity of the vintage car scene, the definition of taste, and how we got to the point where people are paying a “tactile premium”; the extra value that people place on fighting AGAINST technological advancement.
Are vintage cars actually better? Why are watches getting popular? Is it worth it to spend the money on something that is, for all intents and purposes, worse than the modern version?
PoK will continue to explore these topics on our upcoming season, where we challenge the concept of “integrated fashion” and interrogate if fashion now encapsulates more than just the clothes you wear.

I wanted to write a piece about Nanushka—a brand that I mistakenly advocated for in the past. The more I looked into their funding, relationships, and proximity to Viktor Orbán, the more I realized that fashion journalism hadn’t covered the situation.
In short, what I found through interviews with anonymous Nanushka employees, publicly available reporting, and thorough research by the last major independent group of journalists in Hungary (@direkt36 ) was a complicated story of money, propaganda, and mistreatment.
In short, Nanushka is used as a propaganda vehicle for the current government of Hungary.

Day 23! I love Bjork and really do think it’s a shame how she’s been lost to time for so many. So incredibly influential. So many amazing songs, vocals, ideas, covers, etc.
