A Dedication to Jeff Buckley. This is one of my greatest pieces Iāve ever made, it was Magic every step of the way. Arriving at the end felt like sweet revival. Jeff, an artist of divine overlap that has defined this era of my life.
I am coming back to my Voice, thank you.

Side by side. Solomon Osayi Roller, Solomon Irein Ona Wangboje (Grandpa). When I first saw these pictures side by side, I was genuinely surprised at the similarities. The smile that we share is something I canāt get over because for the first time, I could see myself in you. Thatās a new gift. I talk to you every single day even though we never met in this life. But this year youāve felt closer than ever. Iām so proud to be your namesake. You were the first history of myself that I ever learned as a kid, and my name has been a heirloom of honor ever since.
A pioneer of contemporary Nigerian art, one of the first modern printmakers of Nigeria, educator, scholar, & humanist. The artwork in the background of both photos is from his series āMan, Mask, and Myth.ā Last summer, I remember moving a bunch of three-dimensional paintings for the Nigerian artist Adewale Adenle here in Atlanta. When I asked him if he knew of Solomon Wangboje, he stopped, turned to me, & very seriously said āof course I doā, like it was out of the question not to. Then he said āIf you are a Nigerian artist and do not know Solomon Wangboje, then you do not know African art.ā I took pride in hearing that. But more than anything, I know I have inherited his heart. And I am most proud of that. Love you Grandpa, Ima keep growing this goatee so that weāre twinning

RETURNING.
I always wondered if Iād find my way back to the guitar, back to singing and performing the songs I love. I had to live some life to figure out how I wanted to show up in the world.
Over the years, my mom always told me to never stop singing, to always keep my instruments with me even if they went neglected. I get now the importance of that. I had walked away from it because it had stopped feeling like mine. It felt corrupted by other peopleās expectations of how I āshould beā and I had little guidance. But Iām so grateful I listened to myself. I didnāt rush myself to arrive anywhere on anyone elseās timing but my own. Iāve returned to it, and itās mine again. I still have stories to tell and the spirit is moving.

I love where music can take me, especially on nights like this when it feels like Iām traveling in the thing above time. Everything I do now is to find even more of this in my life. Beautiful conjureš® shoutout to Bill & Spencer for their acoustic jam at Napoleonās, that music environment & community is a gem, one of a kind.

I was just accepted as a runner-up winner to this Music Production Masterclass Scholarship and I am beyond grateful right now. I was granted enrollment and 50% off of my tuition.
I rarely ask for assistance, but I am reaching out to my community for support! If you know me, you know how passionate I am about my crafts and the discipline Iāve put into applying myself every day for years. I would love to be able to further my music education. Currently, if just 100 people donate $26 Iād make my goal by the deadline of next Wednesday (Feb. 25th).
Thank you all so much for the support youāve given me this far and thank you in advance for believing in me! šš½

Gasprices - (cover art: @sapphinaroller )
The day that I wrote this, so much emotion surged through me and something unlocked when I arrived at these words, this feeling.
My deeply personal experience at that moment about how I felt about the world and where I was suddenly crossed the threshold into the collective experience.
Something is on the rise and itās been burning in my mind with the clearest mesh of colors.
Even as things look dismal right now, there is a power in recognizing that things are changing, things are shifting and itās because people know the price of life is high! And with that knowing itās necessary to take action. Something IS on the rise.
Whatās gonna happen next? That is the most exciting part, it does not have to rest in the darkness because it is unknown.
More than anything, I want you to listen to this song and discover what it invokes for you.
The way this song came together is the type of magic you hope to find every time when itās time to create. The spirit of collaboration is a reminder that no matter our role, we need each other to discover what weāre capable of.
Thank you Nathan for this collaboration for creating the musical landscape for this message to live in! Working with you was beyond exciting. And thank you to my sister Sapphina for the powerful cover art and every conversation that brought more life to this creation. Link in bio, Gasprices!ā½ļø
