بعد تسع سنوات من العمل وإعادة العمل، أستطيع أخيرًا أن أقولها: رجل الورق: نهاية جريدة وحكايات أخرى سوف يُعرض عل شاشة على الجزيرة الوثائقية في جزئين: الجزء الأول يوم 26 تشرين الأول الساعة 8:00 مساءً بتوقيت بيروت، والإعادة 27 تشرين الأول الساعة 4:00 مساءً، والجزء الثاني يوم 2 تشرين الثاني الساعة 8:00 مساءً بتوقيت بيروت، والإعادة 3 تشرين الثاني الساعة 4:00 مساءً. بدأ هذا الفيلم في الأيام الأخيرة لصحيفة السفير عام 2016، مع طلال سلمان وغرفة التحرير، فيما كانوا يطبعون عددهم الأخير كانت المدينة تودع صحيفتها، مرآة من مراياها، كانت بيروت تودع قطعةً من ذاتها. لمدة أحسست أن هذا العمل ولد يتيماً. نادرون من آمنوا بهذا الفيلم في البداية، وكانت الموارد شحيحة، ولوقتٍ طويل شعرنا بأننا وحدنا، كأن لا أحد سوانا يهتم بهذه الحكاية. إلا أن بعض الاشخاص اهتمّوا حقًا، وبعمق، فمنحونا فنّهم وعملهم ووقتهم: زياد سحّاب، ريم نِعمة، عبير هاشم، مهى زراقط، رائد زينو، علي حمّود، حسن نورالدين، مازن هاشم، عائلة سلمان، عائلة السفير، وكل من ساعد بكلمة به مني الشكر والامتنان. تغيّر الكثير منذ بدأنا، ومع ذلك يبدو الفيلم اليوم أشدّ صلةً وضرورة، مرثية صغيرة للورق، وسؤال أكبر عن الذاكرة والمجتمع ومَن يحمل حكاياتنا عن الوطن، وفي النهاية شكراً للجزيرة الوثائقية لفرصة العرض التلفزيوني. After nine years of making and unmaking, I can finally say it: The Paperman: Chronicles of a Newspaper’s Farewell is reaching the screen - broadcast on Al Jazeera Documentaries in two parts (Part 1 on 26 October at 8:00 pm Beirut time, rerun 27 October at 4:00 pm; Part 2 on 2 November at 8:00 pm Beirut time, rerun 3 November at 4:00 pm). This film began in the final days of As-Safir, moving with Talal Salman and the newsroom as they print their last issue and a city says goodbye to its paper, and, in many ways, to a piece of itself. Few believed in this film at first, and the resources were few; for a long stretch it felt like we were alone, as if no one else cared about this story. But some did care, deeply, and they gave their art, work, and time: Ziyad Sahhab, Reem Nehme, Abir Hachem, Maha Zaraket, Raed Zino, Abir Hachem, Mazen Hachem, Ali Hamoud, Hassan Noureddine, the Salman family, the As-Safir family, and everyone who helped with a word. So much has changed since we started, yet the film feels even more urgent.

Beyond the sweat, the struggle, and the setbacks—there’s resilience. Every step, every push, every moment of doubt overcome is a victory. Keep moving. Keep winning. #nationalsportsday
