OUT NOW - ‘Sands Don’t Sleep’, album by Sol Monk
Drummer @solmonk1 is back with another album. ‘Sands Don’t Sleep’ is his second album with the trio - guitarist @tamuzdekel and bassist @dorsambass , joining him for another adventure following 2025’s freewheeling ‘New Moves’. These six tracks tighten their sound and expand their horizons, fusing acid jazz, Afrobeat and house into a twirling, grooving trip. Producer @rejoicer1 (who guests on bass and keys) gives the album a psychedelic shine that echoes long after the final note.

On ‘Open Spirals’, the second single from @solmonk1 voyage ‘Sands Don’t Sleep’, his upcoming album, the drummer lays out a map and goes exploring. With bassist/producer @rejoicer1 and guitarist @tamuzdekel along for the ride, the track peeks into mysterious musical corners — roving North African melodies, twinkling guitar tones, percussion that sizzles and snaps. The destination? The dancefloor. “We made this imagining people moving and dancing,” says Sol Monk. A soundtrack to explore how your body can move.
