S/s26 ‘After The Orgy’ final look 11
‘Returned’ Dress
Bog-eaten Hand sewn silk crepe chiffon dress, almost fully dissolved with bead embroidered details as the only material remaining. Wooden necklace halter closure.
‘Sanctuary’ Top
Handmade crochet lace top with halterneck closure and sequin lace detailing. Dyed and darkened by the bog.
‘Ripple Effect’ Trousers
Bog-eaten Silk satin turquoise trousers with double pleat front and pockets in the side seam. Elastic waistband. And very eaten belts to secure closure. The bog has dissolved the warp threads of the satin, leaving behind the weft to drape freely.
Ocula visits the earthy allure of Dirty Looks at the @barbicancentre .
Curated by Karen Van Godtsenhoven and @jonastbury , the exhibition uncovers fashion’s complex fascination with dirt—tracing everything from rubber boots worn by Queen Elizabeth II and Kate Moss to garments evoking ancient bogs and post-industrial decay.
A radical rejection of sanitised surfaces, the show explores how grime becomes a language of resistance, spirituality, and ecological repair.
‘After the Orgy’—discussed by @jonastbury anchors these ideas in the muddy intersections of fashion, memory, and the more-than-human world. The piece was created by @solitude.studios
Now open at the Barbican Gallery, London.

Entering the last week of Dirty Looks: Desire and Decay in Fashion at the @barbicancentre
At first when the lovely @karen_vangodtsenhoven and @jonastbury reached out to us, it was with our AW24 collection ‘Hibernating Hopes’ in mind. After the runway show, our bog dyed garments luckily resonated with the beautiful curatorial concept taking form.
This was the final look from the runway show, now exhibited in the ‘Nostalgia of Mud’ gallery 🤍
Thank you for supporting us and our contribution! It has been such a pleasure to work on this exhibition. Encouraging everyone who hasn’t made in there yet to go see !;*

We are super excited to announce a continuous collaboration with Boom Butik with the release of our ‘Crest’ longsleeve t-shirt !!
This is our first joint piece, and it’s available now on Boom Butik’s website (link in bio⛓️💥) !
Boom Butik is the canvas of your wardrobe, waiting for someone to give it expression. Solitude Studios is a vast idea in need of such a canvas.
Intrigued by the interaction between humans and nature, Solitude Studios draws inspiration from philosophical conversation, both for worldbuilding, but also for specific visual references.
With this collaboration, Solitude Studios will be painting their designs onto the canvas of Boom Butik, making vast ideas vastly available.
We’re so happy to share this with you. Lots more to come 💋
